goomorinhowarya?

Does anyone remember those really old Micromachines commercials with the really fast talking guy? Yeah, I think I work with him. Well, it might not be the same guy. But I definitely work with a fast-talker. He might even be faster than the Micromachines guy. And it ends up making me feel stupid. Take this morning for example. I passed him the hallway and he said, "Good morning, how are you?" Except it really was "goomorinhowarya?" Your brain just can't process questions that fast. It has to spend all of its energy decoding what he's saying. And so instead of answering this very easy question, you end up with a long awkward pause while your brain tries to catch up. It's sort of embarrassing. You feel pretty dumb. He's also stumped me on "whatareadiyoulivewhenlivecincnati?" aka "What area did you live in when you lived in Cincinnati?" I think that might have taken me a full minute to decode and answer. And when it's not a question with a simple answer, forget it. Just pretend you didn't hear him and run away.

And oh, happy St Patrick's Day all.

SOTD: Brooks and Dunn, It's Getting Better All the Time (I heard it on the way in this morning and it just won't get out of my head. I've tried singing It's a Small World to myself, I've tried listening to hamsterdance.com. Nothing's working!)
