What I Did on my Summer Vacation
Things I saw on my trip up north: 1) Amish kids on a trampoline and an Amish farmer on a tractor. I did not know trampolines and tractors were integral parts of the Amish lifestyle. 2) The Blessing of the Bikes. And I do not mean your Schwinn. Apparently, if you're going to ride a Harley, you best have it blessed up at the church. 3) A lobster trap at a garage sale. Yes. For all the lobsters. In Michigan. 4) A very large lab scared of a very small turtle. 5) A teradactyl. OK, it was a blue heron. But it looked like a teradactyl. My 7th grade science teacher also looked like a teradactyl. Other than these sightings, I pretty much slept and read. Got through 5 books. One of which was a "Christian romance." Which is apparently code for boring as hell. What good is a romance novel in the hammock without some degree of smut and scandal? I'm back (obviously). Back to the grind tomorrow. Off to Dallas Tuesday/Wednesday and Detroit on Thursday.
