Band Geek
They have repainted the fire hydrants in Marshall. Now they're really, really red. The high school marching band is having practice up the road. All I can say is thank god they're practicing. They need it. Something attacked my tomato plant, causing it to sort of split in half. I've taped it back together with pink electrical tape, and I'm under the illusion that this solves the problem. It's my act of defiance. That plant will not die. I won't allow it. And now it looks quite stylish. I almost stepped on a mouse. At least it was outside. But I can see the cogs turning in its little mouse brain, and it's thinking about coming inside, I just know it. I won't allow that either. I read a tear-jerker of a book yesterday. One True Thing. I recommend it if you need a good cry. And who doesn't need a good cry every now and then? I'm up to 16,000 pages or so in my quest for a million. I have just a few left to go. But I still think that 16,000 since January isn't too shabby. I got no fewer than 6 credit card applications in the mail today. And a Newport News catalog. I'm a lucky, lucky girl.
